    Route description

This hike is suitable for all age groups. The starting point Männlichen is easily accessible from Grindelwald and Wengen. Männlichen has two completely different faces. From the valley of Grindelwald it appears as a gently rising, green hill. From the Lauterbrunn side, Männlichen appears completely different. Barren grassy slopes and craggy rocky sections drop steeply down into the valley. The view from the crest of the long mountain is impressive and rich in contrast. From Männlichen at 2230 m above sea level, one follows the comfortable, unique high-altitude trail in a southerly direction and follows it slightly downhill into the Arvengarten.

At the end you climb up to Kleine Scheidegg, 2061 m. The Kleine Scheidegg is the terminus of the Wengernalpbahn and the starting station of the Jungfrau Railway.

Those who wish can extend their stay here and spend the night at the Hotel Bellevue des Alpes. The historic hotel dating back to 1840 is already managed by the 5th generation. In addition, the hotel is known as the filming location of "The Eiger Sanction" with Clint Eastwood and "North Face" with Benno Fürmann. All the interiors of the public rooms in the hotel date back to the 1920s, while the rooms invite you to travel back in time.

    Parking

There are two public parking garages with covered spaces to choose from in Grindelwald: Parkhaus Eiger+ (252 parking spaces) and Parkhaus Sportzentrum (160 parking spaces). These cannot be reserved in advance. Uncovered parking spaces are available throughout the village.

    Safety first.
